1995

Inception in a Garage:

Founded in 1995 by Mr. Patel in a humble garage in Lusaka, Zambia.

Blue Boom Detergent Paste:

Introduction of the iconic Blue Boom Detergent Paste, marking the beginning of the Trade Kings story.

1997

Yebo Carbolic Soaps:

Launch of Yebo Carbolic soaps, expanding the product line into personal care items.

1998

Romeo Soap:

Introduction of the Romeo soap brand, further diversifying the personal care product range.

Super Sweets:

Venture into the confectionery market with the launch of Super Sweets.

2006

Initiation of the cross-pollination of ideas, leading to the manufacturing of lollipops, biscuits, breakfast cereals, potato and maize snacks, and soya nuggets.

Amazon Brand:

Launch of the highly successful Amazon brand, becoming the flagship brand for the confectionery division.

New Brands Launched:

Introduction of Yoyo Fun Snacks, Swiss Bake, Big Tree Brands (Royal Oak), and Nyama Soya, showcasing ongoing innovation and diversification.

2008

Commissioning of Kafue Steel Mills:

A milestone event with the commissioning of Kafue Steel Mills, becoming fully integrated in 2017. A first in Sub-Saharan Africa for raw iron ore to finished steel products.

2010

Boom Bubble Plus Detergent Powder:

Launch of Boom Bubble Plus Detergent Powder, showcasing a commitment to innovation and quality.

2012

Boom Household Range:

Introduction of the Boom Household Range of Home Care products, emphasising continuous product development and quality.

2015

Incorporation of Dairy Gold:

Dairy Gold is incorporated as an associated business of the Trade Kings group and begins manufacturing a range of nutritious and high-quality products.

2016

Establishment of Big Tree Beverages:

Entry into the beverage category with the establishment of Big Tree Beverages, expanding the portfolio to include carbonated soft drinks, fruit juices, and energy drinks.

2017

Reaching New Heights:

The Trade Kings Group reach record production with 6,000 tons and launches the Milkit Confectionery Range.

2019

Aloha and MediHerb Brands Launched:

Launch of the Aloha brand across laundry and household ranges as well as Mediherb into the natural skin care category signifies the Trade Kings Group’s commitment to serving the evolving needs of consumers.

2020

Banja Laundry Range:

The introduction of the Banja Laundry Range, developed specially for use by families, marks another launch that showcases the Trade Kings Group’s consumer-first approach.

2021

Global Pandemic:

The Trade Kings Group joins the world in the fight against Covid 19 Pandemic, which drives unprecedented R&D and speed to market with the HygieniX brand in response.

2022

Recognition for Outstanding Quality and Scaling to Meet Regional Demand:

Investment of USD 250 million to expand manufacturing and upgrade technological capabilities.
Boom is recognised as the highest quality laundry powder in the region.

2023

The Trade Kings Group achieves record growth with volumes in excess of 12,000 tons monthly.

2024

The Future Awaits: With an unprecedented growth story, the Trade Kings Group looks to the future of Zambia, the region, and the global market to drive continued growth and innovation.
